Liat Waysbort (Israel, 1974)
Liat’s dance career started with the Bat Sheva Dance Company in Tel-Aviv. There she worked with choreographers such as William Forsythe, Amanda Miller, Michael Schumacher and Ohad Naharin. The knowledge and qualities she gained from this work triggered her motivation to make her own work. Liat lives and works in the Netherlands since 2000. She followed a two-year master of choreography program at Codarts in Rotterdam after which Dansateliers offered her support for developing her talent further. Among other works, she made the performances Memory happens now (2006)
and Re-dreaming the work (2008). Her dance is characterized as intensely physical, warm, dynamic
and sometimes lightly absurd.
